Is there anyway we can organise an evening craft market.
The same has the one they have in Guardamar

Thanks Alan
I was thinking of the market going from
the Grey area on up to the other end
of the high st has there is nothing in between of interest.
Joking aside,That may well be a good place. It would automatically join the grey area with the strip,so on a nice sunny evening, you could have a drink or a meal, plenty of decent bars and restaurants at either end stroll through the Arts and Crafts Market, and then onto the far end for a drink, before taking a nice walk back,
Dont know how much of an interest with stall holders,But it seems to work with Guardamar and Torrie.Lets hope Jeff looks at this idea and gives us some feedback
Hi Alan
Yep you have got it 100 % Alan
Be great to get it going before July
There should be no reason to say no
really. Maybe also include street performers too.
And also may get people in to these new shops that are empty at the moment.
Also bring a new Vib to the Urb
Love the idea, however location will be the big issue, remember in Guardamar the market does not disturb any residents / block any driveways etc.
I can see what you mean Golfer,But having been to the Guardamar Market a few times and the Torrie one several times,If run on the same lines, noise would not be an issue,in fact I would think through traffic noise would be more than the actual market. We have to stop La Marina from becoming a ghost town and any idea should be looked at seriously, your worrying about the lack of complete silence, normally pours cold water on what you say, noise is part of living if we wanted silence why did we pick on La Marina to live.
I still think Grants idea of the market is a great idea and a big step forward in livening up La Marina. If we can get it off the ground is another thing,First is getting the Council interested, then getting stallholders interested, and lastly the logistics of the whole idea,It has a long way to go,and at least you are part of the way there in liking the idea, but until you get away from your consistent No noise anywhere,I dont believe you would give anything any backing. Please have a try of believing we have to live with noise, what we dont want is unnecessary noise. But of course this thread is about a market not about music and kareoke
There's the large car park in Rojales, opposite Mercadona - you'd have to ask the council about that. The Casa La Pedrera (the Grand Design House) or the castle at San Miguel.
What a fantastic idea. Lots of thought and planning and advice from the Council should cover any issues. La Marina needs more attractions not only for visitors but us permanent residents. A walk along an evening market as I said would be o really good idea.
Thank you Alan & Sallyann being able to see through the cloud put up by others.
Golfer it would be obvious not to block
peoples drives, and the noise of conversation would be a lot less than vehicles noise going vroom down the road being theres no reason to stop for.
This would bring a lot more people into La Marina whom may normally avoid
I never said anything about noise, some oy you have noise on the brain.
I was thinking about blocking access etc, roads closed etc
Golfer, how many times in the past have you made a comment that was not about noise, percentage wise very few.
If you try to change horses in mid stream you have a good chance of hurting yourself.
Your remark was "remember in Guardamar the market does not disturb residents" With your track record on this forum, that can only mean one thing.
Sounds like a good idea Grant.
When you look at how much bigger the Saturday market around Bahia Des Dunes has become.Their is no reason why a Craft market couldnt become a success.
